February 6, 2011 will always be remembered by Brazilian fight fans. On that night, Ultimate Fighting Championship held its 126th Pay-Per-View event. In the main event, Anderson "The Spider" Silva went toe-to-toe with Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort. In this fight, Silva was looking to defend his UFC Middleweight Championship for a record-breaking eighth consecutive fight. His mission was accomplished with unimaginable flair.
Serious Adversity
When it comes to mixed martial arts, Belfort is no rookie. He has stepped in the Octagon against the very best, and he has an impressive track record. He has 19 wins and 9 losses. Though he has a few submission victories under his belt, as well as a few by judges' decision, most of The Phenom's victories have been by knockout, or via stoppage by the referee or medical staff. This comes as no surprise, as Belfort's in-ring specialty is in boxing. What makes him even more dangerous is that he is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Belfort is a former UFC Middleweight Champion himself and he has defeated many great UFC competitors, such as Randy Couture, Rich Franklin, and Wanderlei Silva.
